Having led the audio department on behalf of Journey and 59 Studio in the creation and technical commissioning of the Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025, Raven AV were best placed to lead on the technical design for the final artist at the Pavilion, COSMICAT. The brief required novel, safe, interactive instruments that could be universally understood by visitors of any age or nationality.

From this brief, Raven AV created two types of interactive, visitor friendly instrument; two LED harps and a hand tracking station operating as a hi-tech conductor’s podium. Stage Precision’s GRID acted as the central point to process, manipulate and covert point cloud and hand tracking data, into OSC, midi and DMX.

Built and tested in the UK, GRID allowed offline and testable programming in the absence of real world equipment. GRID’s ability to have virtual objects in motion allowed Raven AV and Brooks Audio the ability to test downstream processes, making a very short development time far more efficient.

As well as system design, on-site programming, and support during the perfomances, Raven AV also supplied the entire technical package to Done + Dusted as a rental package.
